RSW: Update 5

RSWgoldpolaroid1.  How I did on last week’s goals.

Missed my goal by 620 words.

2.  My goal(s) for this week.

4,680 words for a WIP total of 50,365. Stretch goal of adding in the additional 620 words I missed this week, for a total of 50,985.

3.  A favorite line from my story OR one word/phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised.

I’m still not sure I can trust Anne, but I will take her donuts. I can trust donuts, for sure.

 4.  The biggest challenge I faced this week (ex. finding time to write).

Reading! My reading time is entwined with my writing time so I often have to choose one or the other. Two of my library holds came in this week–We Were Liars by E. Lockhart and The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle, so I chose reading for a couple days. I wasn’t too keen on Myracle’s book, it was a little cheesy for my tastes, but OMG We Were Liars absolutely lived up to the hype!

Also, I’ve been babysitting my twin nieces during the weekdays, which eats into writing time and will continue to do so for the next month.

5.  Something I love about my WiP.

I love when I finally get to the kissy bits. Kissy bits are my fave.

So, how did YOU do this week, writing or otherwise?

I am IMPRESSED and inspired by your productivity! Go YOU! Also, I must get my hands on WE WERE LIARS. I’ve heard only wonderful things and I love me some E. Lockhart. Good luck with the writing this week – I often have to make the writing/reading choice too. So hard to balance!

Ugh, I hate having to share reading and writing time, but in some ways that’s kind of how it should be. If I pick reading over writing, I tend to need the break anyway. But I feel your pain. Now I want a donut…

I hate it, too! It makes me remember the days before my baby when I had all the time to read AND write and I spent way too much of it on Facebook, lol…

I’m much the same way with reading and writing–I often have to pick one or the other. I like the line you shared from your WiP. (And now I want a donut!) Hope this is a super productive week for you!

    P. S. My sentiments exactly on both of the books you read this week. 🙂

I’m glad I’m not alone on Myracle’s book. I feel like it got a lot of rave reviews but maybe I’m just not the intended audience. Good luck this week!

    • Crystal says:

Sister! I’ve been watching her girls now and then since they were itty-bitty. They’re a bit go-go-go, but they can be a lot of fun, too 🙂

Mmm, kissy bits! 🙂 I have the same problem with reading vs. writing time. And then sometimes, I have a problem of reading vs reading time! For instance, my digital loan for WE WERE LIARS came up and I couldn’t finish the book I was on in time so I let WWL go. And now after hear (yet another) gushing comment about it, I’m kicking myself. I’ll get to it soon, I swear! I hope you have a great week – good luck with your goals!

    • Crystal says:

It happens, but you should definitely pick it back up! I read it almost all in one sitting. I had to wait for several weeks to get the book from my library, because everyone wants to read it!

  5. Erin Funk says:

Ha ha! Yes, donuts are very trustworthy. I’ve never met one I didn’t like. 😉

Isn’t that always the case with library books? It never fails that they come in right when you’re busiest. My thoughts on THE INFINITE MOMENT OF US were the same as yours, but I have yet to read WE WERE LIARS. It’s still on hold at the library and will probably be available right when I’m super busy lol.

Good luck on this week’s goals!

INFINITE MOMENT – there’s another one that’s on my TBR-list. Too many books!

620 words – bah, that’s nothing. You are kicking this WIP’s butt!

Kissy bits are pretty much THE BEST 🙂 Good luck this week!

    • Crystal says:

I HOPE I’m kicking it’s butt and not just adding so many terrible words that it kicks MY butt come revision time, haha… we’ll see, I guess. 🙂

  7. Krispy says:

Haha, donuts will not betray you! Love the line. 🙂

I give you a pass on falling a bit short with the word count because I too know the pull of WE WERE LIARS. The voice was so great! Glad you weren’t disappointed!

Good luck with your goals this week! (And thanks for your kind comment on my WuW post!)
