RSW: Update Two

RSWgoldpolaroidOK, here we go!

1.  How I did on last week’s goals.

My goal was to write another 4,680 words, and AGAIN I surpassed it! OK, so not by a whole lot. I wrote 26 words more than I planned, so 4,706, for a total word count of 32,186.

2.  My goal(s) for this week.

4,680 words, for a total WIP word count of 36,866

3.  A favorite line from my story OR one word/phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised.

Said by Mick, the MC’s movie star love interest: “Have you been enjoying the city so far? It’s horrible weather but you know, the people are nicer here. They put gravy on french fries, which I don’t eat, but I mean, I love that they do it. I respect it. It’s so, In your face, Ketchup. Right?”

4.  The biggest challenge I faced this week (ex. finding time to write).

This week completely got away from me. Baby and a migraine and lack of sleep–I didn’t even touch my WIP until Friday night. Normally, I’d accept it as a bad writing week, but the shame of publicly admitting horrible failure changed my tune, so I worked double-time on Saturday and Sunday to meet my word goal!

5.  Something I love about my WiP.

Yari Borg. It’s a made-up canceled TV show, a romantic comedy about cyborgs homesteading in the Siberian wilderness. Every time I read that description it makes me chuckle.

So, how did YOU do this week, writing or otherwise?

Ha! I like that you admit the only reason you wrote was because of the public accountability. I’m the same way! Which is why RSW is so great! I’m glad you got your word count in despite the baby/migraine issues. 🙁 Hope this week goes better!

    LOL at your ketchup line!

And YES to the public shame because I did the same thing this weekend to catch up on the days I spent freaking out about writing instead of actually writing. Normally I would have just taken the weekend off.

Yay for your extra 26 words 🙂

Okay, the Yari Borg thing totally made me laugh. I’d watch a rom-com about cyborgs any day! I really hope the migraines stay away and that Baby is extra happy this week so you can get in lots of good writing time! Also, I loooove gravy on fries. 😀

I would like to see an episode of Yari Borg, please! Haha! I love your excerpt. And congratulations on making your goal this week. Good luck in the coming week!

That’s awesome that you pushed yourself to tackle your word count goal over the weekend. Yay accountability! Also, I love the snippet you shared. My husband is obsessed with poutine. 🙂

I am glad I don’t live in Canada, if only because I have no access to poutine unless I make it myself (which I never do). Poutine and Tim Hortons would be the end of things for me, I think.
