Every year I watch people go crazy over word counts throughout November, and I wish I had done NaNoWriMo, too.  This year, I am!

This is especially stupid of me, since I am going to be moving this month, but writing and wisdom rarely go hand-in-hand.  At least not for me.

It’s all working out so smoothly–I have a new project I’m stoked about starting and the grueling edits on my prior WIP have just been completed after weeks of being Slumped.  This is how I know when I’ve made a good decision.  If things take too much work and planning, I always know that it’s the wrong choice for me.  Not because I hate to work and plan–I love to do both–but because I’ve always felt that when something is meant to be, The Universe will help it happen.  When The Universe is against you, it’s never a good thing.

Anyway, so, I couldn’t be more excited about this new project I’m working on!  The tentative title is THE VAGABOND LIFE OF WILDER BRIGGS, and it’s a YA contemporary.  There’s going to be drama, love, high school politics, and camping.  Best of all?  There will be mixed tapes.  I love mixed tapes.

Anyone else participating in NaNoWriMo?  My user name is crystal.schubert, so feel free to befriend me on!
